Sylvia is the comedic and tragic story of world-renowned poet Sylvia Plath (Gwyneth Paltrow). Sylvia is in a serious relationship with a fellow poet, Ted Hughes (Daniel Craig) and the two eventually get married. Plath becomes rather unhappy though, as Ted puts his career and fame ahead of her and her literary career. Sylvia begins to also wonder whether Ted is having extramarital affairs or that she her self is going mad. To discover the truth, Sylvia must confront her suspicions and depression. This introspection on her part, leads to the inspiration for her dark, gloomy writings that have gained her critical praise and fame.
