"Michael Collins" is a biographical movie about the Irish leader of the same name. Michael Collins (Liam Neeson) organizes effective guerrilla resistance against the British forces in Ireland. Eamonn DeValera (Alan Rickman) benefits from Collins' help but disagrees with him politically and fears his popularity. His friendship with Harry Boland (Aidan Quinn) disintegrates over their rivalry for Kitty Kiernan (Julia Roberts). In the end, Collins' assassination is depicted in a controversial way that some historians disagree with. |
