“Blood Simple” takes place down in Texas where a wealthy and jealous salon keeper, Julian Marty (Dan Hedaya) is convinced his wife, Abby (Frances McDormand) is cheating on him. So Mary does the most logical thing and hires a private investigator, Loren Visser (M. Emmet Walsh) to spy on his wife. This is where he learns the object of Abby’s affections is Ray (John Getz) of Marty’s bartenders. However Visser has other plans and calculates how to play Marty and Abby against one another and reap the profits especially when Marty demands his wife’s death. This is when the backstabbing and double crossing really begins and no one knows whom he or she can trust.
