Wendell Armbruster (Jack Lemmon) is a wealthy Baltimore industrialist who has to travel to the town of Ischia, Italy to pick up the body of his father when the older man is killed in an auto accident. Once there, he discovers that his conservative father has been carrying on a ten-year affair with the mother of shop girl Pamela Piggott (Juliet Mills), who is also in the town to pick up her parent's body. |
