In the movie The Spy Who Came In From The Cold we follow the adventures of a British agent during the cold war named Alec Leamas (Richard Burton). At the beginning of the film Leamas suffers a painful setback when one of his agents doesn’t manage to make it safely back from East Berlin. Leamas then gets depressed, and starts dating a socialist named Nan Perry (Claire Bloom). He is contacted by the East Germans in an attempt to make him a double agent. He goes to East Germany to give an investigator named Fiedler (Oskar Werner) information about one of their top commanders Hans-Dieter Mundt (Peter Van Eyck) who may actually be a British agent. |
